Animal Crossing – Garfield Pixel art

I guess it might come as a surprise, but it was in fact with Animal Crossing Wii that I had my first experience with pixel art. Not to mention this game was my first experience with Animal Crossing as well.

I actually made a lot of designs for my town and clothing, it wasn’t particularly easy to do with the Wiimote but I did my best. New Leaf completely solved that issue for me since I was able to paint directly on the screen. I’m not sure if I was able to save all the designs, but I’ll be sure to share it if I find another interesting one

Luigi the immortal (2010-2016)

June 1, 2010

March 2016

Since many of my artworks stayed only on Deviantart for a long time, I was planning to share the original 2010 Luigi picture in other social media, and do some small adjustments to it…

But after looking at the picture, I just kept finding all sorts of mistakes and things that could be improved. I wasn’t going to be satisfied showing it as it was.
So, I decided that it would be better if I did it again, to test how my actual skills could improve the original idea, and then I would be able to share both as a side by side comparison.
As you would expect, I added all the details and illustration effects that I could think off, just to stretch the difference between both pictures, trying to make Luigi look as epic as I can.

Reblog Both artworks on Tumblr here: Link

Both artworks were made by me, the first one was submitted on Deviantart in January 25 of 2010.

This was one of the first artworks I submitted to the internet some time ago, along with some of my silly first web comics. I always liked it, even today I still do. It was one of my first major fan arts at the time so I was happy with it, I liked the colors, the pose, the outlines, and everything.

I was still a noob at this internet sharing thing, and I was also learning all the digital tools. I was really excited to see the progress I was making, and share it with everybody immediately… Even when nobody was there, because I was basically alone at my gallery at the time, but I didn’t mind that at all. Yeah, good memories, that’s some “Internet Nostalgia” there.

So, this time I remade it from scratch. Of course, I took some liberties with Renamon’s design, just to try to resemble the original “Rina” artwork I made. I hope you don’t mind.

You can support me on Patreon to keep making artworks like this one. If you’re interested in becoming my patron, be sure to send me a message so we can talk about your concerns or suggestions 🙂

Now it’s time for a little fan art of Paper Mario: the thousand-year door. The cute goombella, and a humanized version of her (With arms and legs) YAY!

I gotta say she definitely changed the way I saw Goombas as a whole. There she was, kicking stereotypes in the face and looking cute while doing it. It was awesome!

Such a clever and witty girl, she fullfiled her role as guide for you in this crazy and fun adventure  just perfectly in my opinion. That and her tattle ability made her a very essential part of your team on this wonderful Mario RPG game.

I also love her headbonk ability. I always tried to make the perfect timing execution for stylish movements. Just talking to you about all this made me want to play the game again XD

I should make another fan art of her. If you want to see her again, feel free to leave a comment or you can ask me directly while supporting my works on Patreon 😀

Misty and Staryu

This day, I was in the mood to put myself to shame. Of course I’m not talking about the actual me, instead I’m talking about the past version of me.
What do I mean by this? Well, I decided to re-work one of my older artworks, to compare how much I’ve improved over these years 😀

The first one was submitted on my Deviantart account June 11, 2010. The second one, July 22, 2015.

I do this often. Somedays, while I’m sketching, I like to re-do some of my older drawings to see progress with my own eyes. But the difference is that this is gotta be the first time that I choose a previously shared artwork and make it new. You can be sure this is the way I pictured it in my head, even the first time I made it, I just didn’t have the skills to make it look like that, hehe.

You can always give me your impressions on twittter @LinkerLuis , And if your an artist, you can also share with me some of your pictures with these Old VS New artworks theme, artist progress is always great to see 🙂
